Lose Weight with Gentle Exercise and Improve Your Cash Flow

Many of us are overweight and unfit. It is a sad reality of our modern lives. The combination of longer working hours, longer distance commuting, less activity and decrease in home cooking is behind the rise. It is all too easy to buy convenience food, which is quick and easy to cook but not terribly good for us.

But just as big a factor is the huge drop in physical activity. We all drive everywhere and only walk from car to mall. Cycling is often too dangerous due to car drivers and walking isn’t possible. We have jobs that mainly involve sitting behind a desk or standing on a production line.

This is terrible for our body and our mind. Humans have evolved over thousands of years to be active, whether it’s hunting for food or preparing and cooking it. Our bodies are built to be active and for far too many of us they aren’t.

The result is a gradual increase in weight, a creeping tiredness and lethargy that affects every part of our lives and often a loss of the ability to make sensible decisions. Decisions such as spending on credit cards and only paying the minimum each month. This leads to overweight middle-aged people, inactive, depressed and sleepy who feel their brains are working at half pace with growing debts.

You can change this starting with 2 easy modifications to your everyday activities. They are

  1. Get enough sleep each night – Get at least 7 hours a night. Scientific research is showing quite marked benefits. Not enough sleep is a cause of ill health and also leaves you more likely to eat comfort food.
  2. Become more active on a daily basis – It is not difficult to become more active. Simply start walking. That’s it. Everyday for at least 30 minutes.  Everyone can find a spare 30 minutes. Try in the morning before work, or at lunchtime or even in the evening and watch less television. Walk fast enough to get hot, a bit sweaty and out of breath.

If you start doing those two small things your health will improve and they will form the basis of gradually changing more of your lifestyle until you are slimmer, fitter, healthier and making sensible financial decisions.
